INTO welcomes UK government’s decision to retain Graduate Route
(LONDON): INTO University Partnerships welcomes the UK government’s decision to retain the Graduate Route visa, which is pivotal for maintaining the UK’s attractiveness as a top study destination for international students. This decision comes as a huge relief for international students and ensures that the UK remains competitive in an increasingly challenging global education market.
International students enrich the academic, social, and cultural fabric of the UK. They play a key role in making the UK a more diverse, vibrant, and globally connected society. The presence of international students enhances our cultural life and contributes to the UK’s global standing, goodwill and influence.
The prosperity of UK universities heavily relies on the contributions of international students. They enhance campus diversity, fund important research, and boost local businesses with their spending. The retention of the Graduate Route visa helps safeguard the £42 billion annual contribution that international students make to the UK economy. Since the launch of the International Education Strategy in 2019, the growth in international student recruitment has delivered a boost of more than £60 billion to the UK’s economy.
We also support the government's efforts to tackle any abuse of the visa system and introduction of a stringent framework for the use of international student recruitment agents. INTO is committed to the highest standards of agent management and has signed up to the UK Agent Quality Framework (AQF), a charter designed to promote best practices in agent management through robust training and standardized processes. This initiative will empower student choice, promote informed decision-making, and strengthen the UK's position as a premier study destination. This partnership exemplifies INTO’s ongoing commitment to providing exceptional experiences for students and universities alike, reinforcing our shared vision of quality and integrity in global education.
