Eight of INTO’s university partners in the UK have ranked in The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2023 and The Guardian University Guide 2023, with six institutions appearing in The Times top 40 and three appearing in The Guardian top 30.
The University of Exeter ranked No. 13 among all UK higher education institutions in The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2023 — climbing eight spots from its place in 2022. At the same time, The University of Manchester ranked No. 24, and the University of East Anglia (UEA), our first partner in the UK, ranked No. 27.
Rounding out INTO partner universities’ appearance in the top 40 for The Times were Queen’s University Belfast, Newcastle University and the University of Stirling, ranking No. 28, No.33 and No. 38, respectively. Newcastle made a significant jump of nine places from its 2022 ranking.
In addition, Manchester Metropolitan University ranked No. 60, leaping 11 places from its 2022 spot, and City, University of London ranked No. 69 in The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2023. That puts all of INTO’s comprehensive university partners in the top 70 this year.
Our university partners’ excellence was also on display in The Guardian University Guide 2023. Exeter came in at No. 15 in The Guardian rankings, followed by UEA at No. 27 — a leap of 14 places from its 2022 spot — and Manchester at No. 30.
Meanwhile, Queen’s, City, Stirling and Newcastle ranked No. 46, No. 58, No. 59 and No. 63 in The Guardian, respectively, with City making a significant climb of nearly 50 places from its 2022 ranking. All of our comprehensive university partners appeared in The Guardian's top 65.
Taking into account UK universities’ commitment to student experience and success, both guides compile indicators from student satisfaction and research activity to career outcomes and university investment.
