MyINTO, INTO University Partnerships’ online learning platform recently won runner-up in the hotly-contested Technology for Learning category of the Independent Higher Education Awards 2018.
The IHE Awards celebrate innovation and best practice across the independent sector, and the judges for the Technology for Learning category were looking for providers who not only lead with innovative digital learning methods but can use data and learner analytics to meet the changing needs of students.
Speaking after the 26th November awards ceremony at the Amba Marble Arch Hotel in London, INTO’s Director of Learning Solutions David Rowson, said: “I am extremely pleased that MyINTO has been placed as runner-up in these prestigious awards and would like to thank the Learning Solutions and Digital Systems teams for their hard work and congratulate them on this major achievement.
“MyINTO delivers a contemporary, simple and intuitive online experience. In response to user feedback, we have adapted existing technology to offer a far smoother navigation process,” said Senior Product Manager, Learning Solutions Gráinne O’Neil.
“We have developed a mobile first user dashboard offering at-a-glance information on individual users’ weekly task management, grades, progress, feedback, social media, INTO events and much more.”
Central to INTO’s submission was a section about training and supporting people on the new technology. Gráinne devised a ‘cascade’ training strategy that was designed to bring employees at INTO’s 10 UK university centres up to speed on the platform and its courseware.
“As well as delivering hands-on training in-centre, we appointed an e-champion within each teaching centre to cascade just-in-time training on the platform and content to both students and employees locally. In short, the MyINTO project is an example of best practice and innovation working together, which is what the IHE awards are all about,” added Gráinne.
