In late summer, INTO Hofstra University welcomed its first-ever cohort, consisting of more than 120 students from 13 countries - Azerbaijan, China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Nigeria, Pakistan, Panama, Russia and Saudi Arabia, among them.
“We had a fantastic start to our program and orientation was a great success, thanks to all the hard work of the INTO Hofstra team and community,” said Executive Director Steve Richman. “It was our priority to ensure that our students had the best experience possible and it was wonderful to welcome them as part of the Hofstra family,” he continued.
Employees at the Centre had organized a busy orientation week for the students, including a reception on their first day, a campus tour and a welcome party.
“I’m new to the campus life and I loved this new experience,” said Shweta, a Graduate Pathway program student from India. “I love how pretty Hofstra’s campus is. We received a campus tour from current students, which was immensely helpful,” said Shweta.
The cohort also participated in Hofstra’s ‘New Student Social’ in the on-campus game room. The space features televisions paired with PS4, Xbox One, and Wii consoles, as well as pool tables, ping-pong tables, air hockey tables, and a foosball table.
INTO Hofstra’s first FAM trip was held in April 2019. This grand kick-off, attended by over 100 agents and counselors, began on campus and included a tour of nearby New York City. The trip played a key part in promoting the INTO Hofstra name and brand with key players in the INTO network.
